Learned this one the hard way. I picked up a batch of the cheapest bins I could find for our office last year to keep costs down, and honestly they’ve been a disaster. The plastic cracked on a few of them within months, one of the pedals on the step bins just snapped off, and the lids don’t sit properly anymore so they look messy in the corridors. Now I’m having to replace the lot which means I’ve spent more than if I’d just bought decent ones in the first place. So this time I’m actually doing research instead of grabbing whatever’s on sale. I’ve been reading up on what to look for in a plastic waste bin, things like wall thickness and whether the lid mechanism is replaceable, since those seem to be the failure points. For anyone who’s kitted out an office or a building, is there a particular spec or material that actually survives daily use, or is it just a case of paying more upfront?
