Precision Agriculture in Focus at BOOST Dissemination Event in Plovdiv, Bulgaria
On March 15, 2023, the Bulgarian Greenhouse Growers’ Association (BGGA) and Agricultural University – Plovdiv (AUP) organized a dissemination event in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.
Full members of BGGA, including greenhouse growers from across the country, were invited to attend the meeting. Mr. Yordan Krastanov, the President of the BGGA Managing Board, welcomed colleagues to the meeting and outlined the most important objectives of the BOOST project. All BGGA members had already received the questionnaire concerning Precision Agriculture and potential training needs and some returned it completed, sharing their opinions, insights and experience according to WP1 of the project as well as the participation in “T1.2 Needs assessment of farmers that are currently or are interested in adopting Precision Agriculture technologies” and completion of “D1.2 Reports on Precision Agriculture researchers, students, and farmers’ feedback.”
During the meeting, attendees were encouraged to visit the BOOST project website and follow its social media accounts. An interesting conversation ensued, where colleagues freely shared their experience in Precision Agriculture, discussing the need for its ever-wider penetration into technologies for growing vegetables, fruits, flowers and more in greenhouses.
